Lexington's I-75 Lane Closures: Navigating the Roadwork Maze
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced a series of lane closures and traffic pattern switches on I-75 in Lexington, starting Monday evening. This roadwork, part of the ongoing project to restore the bridge over the David Fork of Elkhorn Creek, will impact both northbound and southbound traffic.
Northbound I-75: A Temporary Shift
On I-75 North, the middle and right lanes between mile markers 109.5 and 111.1 will be closed starting at 8 p.m. on Monday, forcing traffic onto the left side of the highway. This shift will remain in place until the last week of August. The northbound on- and off-ramps at Winchester Road (Exit 110) will remain open, but drivers entering the interstate from this exit should be prepared for limited space to merge.
Southbound I-75: A Detour Required
Starting on Tuesday at 8 p.m., the middle lane of I-75 South will close, and the left two lanes will take over. This closure will affect the Winchester Road exit, which will be closed to southbound traffic. Drivers are advised to exit at Man o'War Boulevard (Exit 108) and travel north to Exit 110. Detour signs will be in place to guide drivers through this temporary route.

The lane closures and traffic pattern switches are scheduled to conclude during the third week of August for southbound I-75 and the last week of the month for northbound traffic.
